Sunday 18th December 2011

This morning was a lot brighter than yesterday with blue skies and sunshine that had some warmth in it. However, it didn't make it any easier to come up with somewhere to go. After calling in at Total to pick up a new hat for Chris (the one I bought him a few weeks ago having mysteriously disappeared), we started our morning off with a wander in Mooragh Park.

As I headed back towards the car, Chris told me about the fountain in the sensory garden that he had been taking pictures of so, I headed in there to have a go.

I had a play in Photoshop with one shot.

After leaving Mooragh Park, we headed for Parliament Street. The shops were open today (so we thought) for Christmas shopping and we were hoping there would be people about. However, it seems we were a little early as, there were not many shops open.

As I walked back to the car along the quay, I noticed a boat with a number of rubber gloves hanging - maybe this is why I kept finding them on the beach

We then headed onto the beach below the lifeboat station. The tide was out so we were able to walk almost to the end of the stone piers. On the way down, we looked through to the opposite pier - I never knew there were steps underneath - I wonder why they were built like this

I walked onto the ledge at the end of the stone pier to get a slightly different view of the beach

Finally, we headed over to the beach on the other side of the harbour and took a walk along towards the Grand Island.

So, that's it for another week. Only five working days and then we are both off for a week. Hoping for some nice weather...
