Saturday 7th January 2012

Today was bright and sunny but, remained windy. As the winds were westerly, we decided to stick to the East coast headig first to Ballaglass. The plan was to walk through Ballaglass to the Corony, down to Cornaa then back to Ballaglass in time for lunch. As we went through the glen, the sun was shining through the trees giving some nice colour.

We didn't see much in our walk across to the Corony, it was quite muddy so we spent much of our time watching where we were going. On arrival at the Corony, the sun was shining on North Barrule, we just needed a place to take a picture without the telegraph lines and pole in it

We then headed down the track opposite the Glen Mona towards Cornaa

Once down at Cornaa, we took a few pictures around the beach area then headed down towards the pool. Once there, we saw a party of Long-tailed Tits moving through the branches but, despite our best efforts didn't manage a decent picture of these little birds.

On arrival back at Ballaglass, we had our lunch, sat in the car. Though the sun was nice it wasn't yet warm enough to eat out. After lunch we headed to Laxey. We took a few shots around the beach and harbour area ad then decided to do a circular walk, going up Minorca Hill, across past the waterfall and back down by the river and the old (what we think) are workings left from whe the mine was operating.

These two are the same shot. The second has been slightly manipulated in Photoshop.

This shot of the fall has bee manipulated in Photoshop to give a different look.

We then headed to the plantation below North Barrule for a short walk however, we started losing the light so, headed home.
