Saturday 6th April 2013

This week was a bonus walk! Dave got married on Wednesday (3rd April) so, I was expecting him to be busy entertaining relatives but he was able to come out. Quite good as next Saturday I'm working and the week after he is away.

We started off at Mooragh Park, hoping to see the Kingfisher but, no luck

Next stop, the Mountain Road

We decided to walk a path we had walked before.

We headed down to Glen Mooar, intending on walking up to Spooyt Vane however, the glen is shut due to storm damage

Next we headed into Ballaugh Curraghs. As we pulled up, a large group of walkers emerged from the footpath so, I made the decision to leave the big lens in the car and just take the wide angle. Just as well, there was no wildlife to be seen!

Saturday 30th March 2013

This week, we started at Glen Wyllin. We intended on parking the car then walking along the beach to Glen Mooar. When we got to Glen Wyllin, it was obvious the car park by the beach had been used for dumping snow

We clambered over the snow only to find the tide was too far in for us to access the beach.

We decided instead to walk one of the footpaths through to Glen Mooar but, most were blocked with fallen trees - the snow and wind had done a lot of damage.

Instead we headed into Peel, with a brief stop at the Devil's Elbow on the way

After lunch, we paid a visit to the Arboretum

Next stop was Ballaugh shore, via the old church. It was quite amazing to see so much snow still on the beach

Our final stop before heading for home - the Whitebridge in Ramsey
