Sunday 28th July 2013

This morning Chris and I had a later than usual start as we decided to start at Milntown in the hope of dew on the plants. It was pretty good for some macro work and, we had it completely to ourselves

Saturday 27th July 2013

This morning Dave and I decided to have a day looking for Dragonflies and Butterflies so, first stop was Ballaugh Glen in the hopes of some pictures. However, when we got there, the sun went behind a cloud and stayed there. We saw a number of Damselflies and one Hawker but the horseflies were very evident so we soon left.

Our next stop was Ramsey Harbour to see if the Little Egret was still present. It was

Next stop, Ballaglass in search of Butterflies

Over lunch, we discussed options and decided to head to Laxey. There was lots of Buddleia there, surely that would have Butterflies on it?

In the evening, Chris and I headed back out to Ballaghennie. I saw a spider wrapping it's prey (a soldier beetle) in silk but, didn't manage a picture.

Friday 26th July 2013

Late afternoon, Chris and I decided to head out to Ballaghennie for a bit of macro photography. It really is a whole other world and we've been amazed at what we've seen and learnt over the last few weeks.

However, the picture I was most pleased with from this evening was that of a Beefly

Saturday 20th July 2013

This week Dave and I headed towards Peel as we wanted to have a look at the photo exhibition in the museum. On the way, we called into Bishopscourt

On arriving at Peel, we had a look in the museum then headed down the footpath towards the Raggart.

After some lunch, we decided that our original plan of returning via Peel hill was probably not such a good idea as it was rather warm so, we headed back along the footpath and then had a wander around Peel. We walked out along the breakwater and got a different view of Peel Castle

On returning home, after Dave had left, Chris and I set about packing the car. We were camping out for the evening with some friends but couldn't quite believe the amount of stuff we needed just for one night. It was a lovely evening with a barbeque, a few drinks and pleasant company.

Sunday 14th July 2013

This morning Chris and I started at Ballaugh, again trying for pictures of the Dragonflies and Damselflies

We then went to the Ayres, no sign of Pyrausta Sanguinalis today but, I have included a picture I took a few days earlier

In the afternoon, whilst Chris slept, I had another play with the splash art with water and food colouring
