This morning was bright and sunny so Dave and I headed over the mountain towards the Clypse Reservoir. On the way, he suggested a walk over to this big white rock that he had been to with a friend during the summer. We pulled over at the Mountain Box and headed down the track.
It was very uneven as the dirt bikes have created large ruts, many of which are full of water. As we walked down, Dave was looking for a track to our right which led to the rock but, we reached the Millennium Way without seeing it. Time to consult the map! It was then that Dave realised that, rather than behind us and to the right, the rock was actually ahead and to the left so, we set off across the moor
As we headed across, we disturbed a Mountain Hare which bounded across in front of us
We reached the top of the hill and Dave set off along a barely defined track telling me that it was definitely this way.
There was a nice view across the Northern Plain from here
We started heading back towards the car
We then carried on towards Onchan and walked around the reservoir
We then walked up the boardwalk towards the small woodland. Nothing much to see apart from some bracket fungus
