We decided to first go to Maughold Church to do some interior shots of it decorated for Christmas. This would mean Dave would have some more to add to the Facebook page.
After we left Maughold, we decided to go to the Dhoon. We thought it would be sheltered from the wind (it was), there should be lots of water coming down the falls and we hoped the rain would hold off. There was quite a bit of debris and quite a few fallen trees in the glen but, there was a fair bit of water and, as the trees had very few leaves the area around the falls was open.
I asked Dave to stand under the falls, to give my pictures an idea of scale but, he wouldn't. I even offered to hold his camera so it wouldn't get wet!
We headed up from the beach, on the side path rather than the one through the glen, then Dave noticed a fork in the path. We decided to take it to see where it led - at first it appeared to be heading in the right direction until, it brought us out just above the falls so, back up the steps we went.
We arrived back at the car and decided to go to Laxey for lunch. There were some surfers in the water but, they weren't going out very far or attempting to stand on their boards so we didn't bother attempting any shots.
By now, it was dull, fairly dark and kept trying to rain. We decided to head for the Mountain Road to see if we could see any brighter areas. We headed down towards Sulby as the weather darkened. As we came out in Sulby, it looked slightly brighter towards Ballaugh so, we decided on a walk along the railway lines. We headed out hopefully but, the day got darker and we had a couple of light showers so, headed home after a circular route
