Sunday 11th December 2011

This morning Chris and I decided to start at Axnfell plantation. A couple of years ago we had seen quite a large party of Crossbills there and Chris was keen to try to get some shots. As he stayed in the prime area waiting to see if there were any birds, I went for a wander through the wood

Chris didn't see any Crossbills and it was dark under the trees so, we headed back to Ramsey. I had seen a shot in a magazine that I fancied trying - very minimalist so, I set up the tripod for a long exposure of Ramsey Bay

I then wandered over to the harbour to take some shots looking towards the swing bridge

As I was stood there, some swans started coming across the harbour towards me, obviously thinking I had food for them

At the end of the harbour, I noticed a man waiting for a bite on his fishing line

Finally, as I headed back towards the car, I saw this twisted steel on a trailer

So, off now to buy a Christmas Tree, ready for putting up next weekend then home to edit.

As it became dark, and the rain stopped, Chris and I decided to go down into Ramsey to take some pictures of the Christmas lights and the streets. We thought they should be pretty empty as it was Sunday evening and, there weren't many people or cars but it seemed that every time we set up in the middle of the road for a shot, along came a car. Still, managed a few shots. We started off in Parliament Square

We then headed down the high street towards the Courthouse

Heading back towards the car, Chris stayed on the high street, whilst I went along the harbour

We met back up at the car and headed home. Chris (as usual) got to the computer first to edit while I cooked tea
